Nobel Peace Prize-winning journalist, free press advocate, and CEO of Rappler.com Maria Ressa will visit Colgate on Oct. 28 as the speaker for the Kerschner Family Series Global Leaders at Colgate.

Katherinne Bertrand Ortiz ’23, a psychological science major from Fairfax, Va., is the recipient of Colgate’s 1819 Award, the University’s highest student honor.

Marsalis to receive honorary degree alongside Mary Ann Moran ’77, Mark Siegel ’73, Joe Castiglione ’68, and IIya Kaminsky An icon of the jazz world with more than 110 recordings to his name, Wynton Marsalis will provide remarks at º£½ÇÉçÇø’s 2023 commencement on Sunday, May 21.

A newly funded natural laboratory, designed to understand the interaction between the climate, hydrology, and the Colgate community, is now collecting data, thanks to the recent installation of specialized monitoring stations on campus and in a local creek. 

Colgate will host a special panel with members of the Syrian Emergency Task Force (SETF), Wednesday, October 26, titled Exposing War Crimes in Syria and the Connection to the Ukraine Crisis. 

All Colgate students from families with annual income levels up to $175,000 will have federal loans replaced with University grants as part of the Colgate Commitment, beginning in the 2023–2024 academic year — an expansion from the current income threshold of $150,000. 

This summer, OUS students, faculty, and directors visited Washington, D.C., to learn outside of the classroom and build connections with the Alumni of Color organization.

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the º£½ÇÉçÇø Bookstore opening its doors in downtown Hamilton following a lengthy renovation that transformed a dilapidated building into the village’s retail anchor.
