Members of the Class of 2028 took their first walk up the hill as Colgate students yesterday.

More than 20,000 prospective students have applied for admission to º£½ÇÉçÇø for a third consecutive year.

º£½ÇÉçÇø has received more than 21,000 applications from students hoping to join the Class of 2027.

º£½ÇÉçÇø has announced a four-year extension of its test-optional pilot program. Through the 2026–27 application season, students seeking admission to the University will not be required to submit SAT or ACT scores.

º£½ÇÉçÇø has received an all-time record number of applications for admission.

The upward trend follows on the heels of last year’s 6.4% increase in ED applications and historic 104% increase in total applications.

A total of 17,540 students, from 50 states and 146 countries, applied for admission to the Colgate Class of 2025, and 913 enrolled in the class, which has an average GPA of 3.77 out of 4.0, up from 3.69 in 2020.

In its first year, Colgate’s no-loan initiative awarded more than $1.5 million to students.

Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020, provided a rare opportunity to celebrate in a challenging year. On that evening, 324 early decision applicants became the inaugural members of the Colgate Class of 2025.

Submission of SAT and ACT scores will be optional for Colgate applicants applying in 2021, 2022, and 2023, thanks to a new three-year pilot program.
