Colgate’s Career Services recently hired a new assistant director of career development focused on the fields of STEM and sustainability. We are excited to welcome Alexis Racioppa to the Colgate community.
Alexis graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in 2021 with a bachelor of arts in political science and, in 2022, with a master of arts in teaching, planning to work as an elementary school teacher. Instead, about two and half years ago she went into career development in higher education where she realized her passion for working with college-age students.
In her previous position as the coordinator of student transitions at Utica University, she worked specifically with students in the arts and sciences. She loved having the opportunity to help students explore the interdisciplinary careers that degrees in those areas offer. Now, as she joins us at Colgate, Alexis is particularly excited to work with students in the area of sustainability because of how versatile and important a background in this field is, especially as the need to identify and implement sustainable practices becomes increasingly important. She looks forward to meeting students with diverse interests and creative ideas to explore how they give back to their communities while they are at Colgate and beyond.
Colgate is lucky to have Alexis' guidance to support students pursuing fields in STEM and sustainability. Learn more about Colgate's career advising or sign up for an appointment with Alexis on the Career Services page.
