I am honored to announce that at their meeting on January 28, 2023, the Board of Trustees formally and enthusiastically approved that the following faculty members be granted continuous tenure and be promoted to the rank of associate professor, effective July 1, 2023

The University has learned that two students have admitted to vandalizing a Chabad Menorah on Broad Street in the Village of Hamilton in the early morning hours of Dec. 8. 

I write today to share º£½ÇÉçÇø’s public health plans for fall 2022, which begins with first-year student arrival on Sunday, Aug. 21.

On Monday, Colgate will be closed in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. On Jan. 1, 1863, President Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation, outlawing the enslavement of human beings descended from Africa. It took more than two years for news to reach the last of those enslaved in Texas on June 19, 1865. As we approach this holiday, I ask that you take the time to reflect on our nation’s history — and its promise.

I write today to share news that Tracey E. Hucks ’87, MA ’90, James A. Storing Professor of Religion and Africana and Latin American Studies, will leave º£½ÇÉçÇø to join the faculty at Harvard University.

With spring break around the corner, I write with an update from campus.

Workers from the Village of Hamilton have restored water service following a break in the water main on Route 12B near 113 Broad Street.

As Colgate prepares for the return of students on Friday, Jan. 21., I write to share some of the measures that the University is taking to support the health and safety of our entire community this spring.

Oak Drive will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic for tree maintenance work, Dec. 27–Jan. 15.
